He is a graphic designer who studied at UNAM, an illustrator and a photographer. On several occasions he has received the Quorum award for Design, the a! Desing award, and the Caniem award for Editorial Art. He has also been a finalist in those contests in about forty occasions. His work has been selected for the Editorial Design awards Daniel Gil (Spain), the Latin American Editorial Design Award (Argentina) for his photo book Cinco días, Habana [Five days, Havana] (Ediciones La Herrata Feliz, 2013), the International Book Project (Italy), the Ibero-American Poster Biennale (Bolivia), the Catalogue of Illustration of Publications for Children and Youth (Mexico), the International Ex-libris and Mini-prints Biennial (China) and the Bratislava Illustration Biennial 2013 for his book Las gallinas no vuelan [Hens do not fly] (Ediciones SM 2011), and 2014 for ¿Dónde está el abuelo? [Where is Grandpa?] (Ediciones La Herrata Feliz, 2014). Along with other illustrators, he received the New Horizons Award from the International Children's Book Fair in Bologna for Diccionario para armar [Dictionary for assembling] (Conaculta, 2012). In 2007 he received the scholarship from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts for specialized studies in the ENSAD in Paris. His artistic work has been exhibited in Paris individually and in several countries collectively. He has been the Director of Art and Design of Ediciones SM Mexico since 2008 and a jury member for the International Illustration Prize SM Foundation-Bologna, and is organizing member of Iberoamérica Ilustra: Iberoamerican illustration catalog. Parallel to his work as art director he is an independent publisher under his own publishing stamp La Herrata Feliz, specialized in art books and photographic books with limited edition. He has published three photo books in limited edition and printing on demand.
