REBECCA FUDALA
New York, NY, USA
I grew up in Bloomington, Minnesota. In 2005, I received a bachelor’s degree from American University’s School of International Service, in Washington, DC. After graduating, I spent five years living abroad and teaching English, mostly in Prague and Seoul. In 2010, I moved to Ramallah, in the West Bank, where I worked as a photojournalist for The Palestine Monitor. My photo essays focused on women rights, evictions in East Jerusalem, and the lives of children in refugee camps. My images also accompanied fellow journalists’ articles on a variety of topics. In 2013, I earned a master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of International Affairs. I have since worked at Oxfam International, Oxfam America, and The New Yorker.
This summer, I graduated from the Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism program at the International Center of Photography, in New York. I was the recipient of a Director’s Fellowship and was named the 2020 George Moss Merit Scholar.
