Reena Rose Sibayan is an award-winning, dedicated and passionate news, event, wedding and portrait photographer with 25 years of professional experience.
She currently works for a variety of news outlets and companies as a freelance photographer.
For close to 20 years, she was a full-time staff photographer and photo editor with The Jersey Journal, a daily newspaper in New Jersey covering Hudson County, its stories and photos appearing on NJ.com and its sister papers including The Star-Ledger.
Prior to joining The Jersey Journal, Reena was a full-time staff photographer with the Worrall Community Newspapers for three years.
She has also previously freelanced for The Associated Press and several newspapers, including The New York Times, The Star-Ledger, The Daily Record, The Home News Tribune and The Courier Post.
Reena received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications degree from Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., but it was through a university camera club in the Philippines--where she was born and raised--where she learned the art of photography and her passion for photojournalism was born.
A graduate of the Eddie Adams Photography Workshop in 2002, Reena has received awards from the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), the New Jersey Press Association (NJPA), and the New Jersey Press Photographers Association (NJPPA). My work has appeared in the Star-Ledger and the New York Times, among others.
Reena is also a certified drone pilot.
She is available to work in New York, New Jersey and beyond. Feel free to reach out to her about your event, assignment or project.
