Reimar Ott
Bielefeld, Deutschland
Reimar Ott was born in Herford (West Germany).
He obtained his degree as a "Diplom Foto-Designer" at the
University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld.
He received a grant from the DAAD for his Diploma work in 2001
about Roma in Hungary and for his documentation of the changes
in Beijing in 2004. In 2013 he received a grant from the VG Bild-KUNST
to document the Mapuche, the indigenous people of Chile.
Together with his fellow students he published two books:
"Neuland Europa" and "24 Stunden Bielefeld".
At the University of Osnabrueck he teaches photography.
Reimar works for editorial and commercial clients.
Recently he started to use film and audio to create powerful
multimedia stories.
He speaks English and French fluently and is now trained in Spanish.
In his spare time he enjoys planting trees in his arboretum
and renovating an old water mill.
Reimar and his wife live in Bielefeld and Brussels.
