Writer and editor Rosa Harris is a two-time National Magazine Award winner who was one of two people shortlisted for a Canada-U.S. Fulbright Award in journalism in 2007. (The award was ultimately not granted because of financial constraints.) She has penned stories for major Canadian and U.S. publications on topics ranging from baby food to global economics. As well, for nearly a decade, she was editor of Ottawa City magazine. She has served as a judge for both Canada’s National Magazine Awards and the National Newspaper Awards, has been a newspaper columnist for The Ottawa Citizen and The Victoria Times Colonist, has taught journalism at four universities and occasionally serves as a talk show host.
She has been executive editor and principal writer on several thought leadership projects produced by the FORTUNE Knowledge Group (FKG). She regularly writes other white papers and articles for FKG and Forbes Insights.
She particularly enjoys investigating the ways in which the history of her craft informs and shapes its future. Her Master of Journalism thesis dealt with the changing face of copyright in the digital age. That was completed in 1998. The topic is still a moving target.
