Rosa Furneaux
Women Photograph
London, UK
I am a freelance photographer currently based in the east of England. My work has been published in The Guardian, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Observer, Pacific Standard Magazine, Mother Jones, and others.
My reporting interests cover human rights, health, climate and women’s issues. With a focus on international journalism, I have previously reported in East Africa, including assignments in Tanzania, Malawi and Kenya. I was recently based in San Francisco, California.
I completed a Masters in Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, where I studied photojournalism and narrative writing. In 2018, I received the university's Dorothea Lange Fellowship to continue a photographic project documenting the lives of adolescent sex workers in northern Kenya.
My work was included in The Guardian's Best Photographs of 2017. I am an alum of the Eddie Adams Workshop, and a member of Women Photograph.
