Sam is self-taught and started his career freelancing in the London music industry of the early 1990’s making album sleeve art. He also shot portraits & documentary features for leading UK publications such as The Sunday Times Magazine, Esquire, Telegraph Magazine and Dazed & Confused.
The over commercialization of the music industry during the late 90’s became the catalyst for a big change in direction, both photographic and personal. Sam abandoned his career in London in favor of quality family time, slowing down and turning his camera inwards. After several nomadic years between India and Australia Sam settled in the forests of Western Australia where he now photographs his on-going family diary and runs international photography workshops.
Sam’s new book ‘The Middle of Somewhere’ will be published by ceiaba foto in June 2015.
