Bikes in Buenos Aires [repo]
Sam Verhaert
Argentina broke records in the manufacturing of cars in 2010 and 2011 when more than 800,000 units were being produced yearly. Most of these vehicles end up in the capital. Every day 1.3 million cars enter Buenos Aires.
However, the number of cyclists who are claiming their portion of the streets is growing… and they don’t intend to relinquish their gains. ‘Bikes in Buenos Aires’ is a project underway that documents the changing customs of urban transportation in what used to be one of Latin America’s most bike-unfriendly metropolises.
