Santi Donaire was born in Jaén (Spain) in 1988. He studied Journalism and Audiovisual Communication degrees at the Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid. He expanded his photographic training at the Blankpaper School. He has worked as a freelance photographer for various media in different countries such as Venezuela, the countries of the former Yugoslavia, Palestine, Greece or the Spanish southern border.
He lived in Caracas, Venezuela, for 3 years as a freelance photojournalist. There, he worked for several communication portals and international news agencies such as EFE / EPA and his images were published in important newspapers and magazines around the world.
Currently, he lives in Spain as a freelance and collaborates with different international and national media.
2018 - 3rd Prize of the Picture of the Year International (POYI) in the General News category.
2018 - Participant of the King of Spain Award for Journalism with Alicia Hernández.
2016 - Winner of the Fujifilm Prize at the PhotON Festival, Valencia, Spain.
2014 - Finalist and participant of Trasatlántica, included within the official section of PHotoEspaña 2015, dedicated to Latin American photography.
2016 - 1rd Fujifilm Award - Photon festival, 2018 - Picture Of the Year (POYI)
