Sara Guerrini is an independent picture editor and photo consultant.
She recently set up and directed the picture department of legendary newsmagazine Newsweek (European edition) - which was relaunched in a printed edition only in 2014. She previously worked at D magazine, weekend supplement of Italian newspaper La Repubblica. She spent few years in London where she worked for Gallery Stock, an image library showcasing the archives of some of the world’s leading photographers. Sara Guerrini worked or contributed as a picture editor for Mondadori publisher at Panorama First and Grazia Casa magazine, at Colors magazine (Benetton Group) and La Repubblica newspaper. Started gaining experience in photography in Germany, training at Ostkreuz – Agentur der Fotografen and weekly magazine Stern and then working with Grazia Neri, first and main international photo agency in Italy, which closed in 2009.
Her focus is mainly in documentary photography however, through her work she has been dealing with the most various fields of photography (Fashion and Beauty, Still-Life, Contemporary Fine Art, Vernacular and Archival material) understanding and engaging with both editorial and commercial aspects.
