Antonello Nusca is an Italian photographer. Born in 1963 Antonello
has begun shooting in 1989 covering news, politic and Vatican for french
agency Gamma. From 1992 to 1997, he was the correspondent photographer for
The European, an English weekly newspaper. Since 1997 he has worked as a
freelance photographer. His photographs have been published worldwide in the
main magazines and newspaper. Since 2009 si a contribuidor photographer of Polaris Images, bases in New York and member of Buenavistaphoto, a network of highly experienced Italian freelance photographers who share and pool archives and skills. buenaVista* photo is an important landmark forthe main Italian and foreign newspapers. http://www.buenavistaphoto.it/ .
He received several awards included a Special Mention at the World Press
Photo in 1992 for his coverage of the Albanian Exodus. This image was also
selected for the Photo Espana 2003 exhibition; "Between the fall of Berlin's
wall and the fall of the Towers: 1989-2001: 13 images which changed the
world".
Second place in the General News category in 2007 competition at the
Prix de la Photographie in Paris;
Honorable Mention in 2008 competition at the Prix de la Photographie in
Paris;
Bronze medal at the 5th China International Press Photo Contest 2009 in the
category of General News Stories;
3rd place Feature Story and 2 Honorable Mention at the internatinal
Photography Award 2009.
