Stéphane Charpentier is committed into an introspective photography. He selects very few pictures from his whole production and makes himself silver prints in the darkroom.
He has lived in different cities (Paris, Toulouse, Lyon, Athens, New York), studied photography in Madrid, followed workshops with Michael Ackerman and Anders Petersen, worked as an assistant for Jean-Christian Bourcart in NYC.
Since 2012, Stéphane is often working in Greece, and is elaborating over the years a self-produced experimental movie. He is directing short films, video installations, video-clips.
Committed to field recordings and sound research, Stéphane took part to the creation of the free-rock ambient band OISEAUX-TEMPETE, whose debut album was released in 2013 on Sub Rosa label on CD and double LP.
He is organizing and curating the TEMPS ZERO shows based on collective photo/video screenings and live improvised concerts.
