Shayma Idris,is a freelance photographer and a dentist by profession. With the help of her mobile phone camera, with joy, she keeps on documenting her everyday life.
She is an “Everyday Cairo” contributor, “Everyday Khartoum” two projects inspired by Everyday Africa and an independent photographer.
Photos of her work have been exhibited in different local exhibitions.
Shayma aspects of interests include raising health and general living conditions of underprivileged regarding the matter since she was a student and till now, as a team member and also as a founder of two organizations focusing on health issues. That -her humane aspect of personality and her interest in humanitarian help- give her photos a humanistic value and vividity to be different
She hopes in her future projects to engage more with the environment, the people and the events that are shaping the life of her generation.
Through her photography, she wish to reflect her own life, and those of many of her generation; youth who live divided between the city and the village, and also those who are still moving back and forth - between displacement, refugee camps and the new countries where they search for new homes.
Through photography, she wishes to capture and communicate the unseen aspects of her underrepresented home, Sudan.
