A photojournalist for more than 25 years. His photographs have appeared in numerous major newspapers worldwide, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times and magazines such as Newsweek, Time, U.S. News and World Report, The Economist, Sports Illustrated and National Geographic. For the past 15 years, he was a staff photographer for the San Diego Union-Tribune. He's covered the Gulf War, the invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, the invasion of Iraq in 2003, Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and major wildfires in San Diego County. Additionally he has photographed sporting events of the NFL, MLB, NCAA and many others. He has been awarded numerous awards for his work including the National Press Photographers Association's Military Photographer of the Year, The PATA Gold Medal for Photography and was a member of the staff at the San Diego Union-Tribune recognized with the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting. For the past 11 years, he has been a faculty member for the DoD Worldwide Military Photography Workshop. He is a proud member of the National Press Photographers Association and a life member of the U.S. Marine Corps Combat Correspondents Association. He is based in San Diego, CA.
