Silvia Boccardi

Silvia Boccardi is a 28-year-old Italian journalist currently working freelance in Milan. She studied in London, where she took her BA in Social Media Studies, focusing in particular in International Politics, at City University, and then a Master in TV Journalism at Goldsmiths. In 2013 she produced and filmed her first videos as freelance, focusing especially on women's right to abortion in Italy and on the dramatic situation of migrants in Greece, anticipating some of the most dramatic issues Europe is facing today. Former in-house producer for VICE Media in Italy and host for the documentaries series VICEonSkyTg24, broadcasted weekly on the national news channel SkyTG24, Silvia now freelances as an author and producer for various media outlets such as The Guardian, Rai, and VICE MEDIA, where she works as senior producer at large. She is now based in Milan, Italy, where she also organises a series of meetings and talks with photographers and journalists through her own association KALE, to discuss health stories, women's empowerment, conflicts and migrants issues. She recently co-founded her production company, UNOZEROZEROUNO, twice finalist at DIG, Italian most famous documentary awards.
