Hradok - Winter Sun
Silvia Razgova
From the series Hradok, a portrait of a town seemingly insignificant to the world, and yet, for those formed by, or anchored in its tempered pace it is so much more. Hrádok is an observation shaped by my idiosyncratic selection; an archive of my past that is now carving out a space in my present. Documenting everyday life, domestic and public spaces, a poetic poignancy emerges in witnessing these lives lived with both enthusiasm and complacency.
Hradok, population 8,000, is neither the smallest nor the biggest towns, not the poorest, not prolific in any way either. It boasts one small 13th century castle, two rivers bordering it, and an average number of noteworthy folk. Everything in between is filed with the everyday of ordinary people.
