Stuart Palley is a photographer covering editorial, news, travel, documentary, and environmental subjects. He is based in Southern California.
Stuart has photographed for National Geographic Magazine, The New York Times, European Pressphoto Agency, The Orange County Register, Texas Tribune, The Taos News, and various other editorial publications.
Recently Stuart’s work was featured on the Boston Globe’s Big Picture blog as one of 40 young emerging photojournalists, and received a Silver award in the 67th College Photographer of the year for his essay on Route 66: An American Highway. Also in 2013 Stuart's multimedia stories received 1st and 2nd place in the Associated Press Sports Editor's awards competition, while working at the Columbia Missourian newspaper at the University of Missouri, competing against professional publications nationally. Stuart has also received numerous regional and national awards for photojournalism.
Stuart received his BBA and BA from Southern Methodist University and studied finance and history. Currently he is completing his MA project on the Salton Sea for the University of Missouri’s photojournalism program while photographing at the Orange County Register newspaper in Southern California.
