Simon is an independent award winning documentary photographer & filmmaker specialising in character driven documentaries. He works in the observational mode which aim’s to 'show' and not 'tell', thus creating an active, not passive, audience. Thematically related around the millennium development goals, human interest & social injustice, his work seeks to demonstrate & humanize potentially abstract & distant issues surrounding global inequity through the universal power of character & story.
Living and Working internationally since 2002 across South & North Asia, South-East Asia, Africa, Australia & North America, Simon has accumulated vast real world experience of international working conditions and practices, particularly in developing nations. Simon’s experience in the field is academically informed by a BSc (First Class Honours) in Social Science from the Open University and an MSc in Science, Technology & International Development from the University of Edinburgh which bring to his work a deep critical understanding of political and social thought, as well as development issues, practices and process's.
