Facing Change: Documenting DETROIT
Detroit, MI, USA
I started photographing while serving an overseas tour in Japan, it started as a way to document my surroundings. Photography gave me a way to immerse my self in new cultures, and always look at things through new eyes. After my enlistment had ended I decided to pursue photography as a full time career, where I enrolled into College for Creative Studies Photography program. While I work in both fine art, and documentary fields, most of my work deals with social criticism. The work I create with a various cameras and formats are all strung together by my ability to create, discover, and reveal stories, and deliver them through powerful imagery.
