James P. Jones is an internationally published editorial and commercial photographer. James was born in Tokyo, Japan and he worked extensively as a web designer as a teenager in Tokyo. He went on to study music and multimedia development attending a Boston area university on academic scholarship. He moved to Providence to start a graphic design studio with Amie Jagielow Jones. He discovered his passion for photography while working for their design clients and it became his artistic focus – and obsession. He loves the creativity of editorial work. He is mostly bi-lingual with English and Japanese (his Japanese is a bit rusty). He is a frequent contributor to Providence Monthly and Rhode Island Monthly magazines. He has won awards for both his writing and photography from the Rhode Island Press Association (2011,’12,’13,'18).
