My portfolio speaks for itself. I cover the Middle East and South via my extensive source base as well as being on the ground in these regions. I am currently freelancing at Aljazeera Investigative Unit as producer and researcher. I regularly write for Middle East Eye, Arab Weekly and VICE and Asia Times on matters of security, terrorism and human-interest stories.
To highlight my experience: I’ve recently covered the Pakistan elections, developed a Media & Censorship segment for Aljazeera Listening Post on the intelligence agencies curbing in on Pakistani media. The issue of Child Abuse which became a scandal in Kasur Pakistan I documented for VICE the vulnerability and the fragility of the legal parameters in Pakistan. In regards to Syria I wrote a feature on the black market of the Syrian Justice System I covered the illegal route of documentation from Istanbul via Beirut to Damascus the narrative focused on Syrians reclaiming their assets in ISIS-held territory and military courts.
In Libya, I reported on the development of the Telecoms industry in ISIS-held territory. Also reported on Shia Militias in Syria. The Kashmir conflict; I went undercover via contact on Instagram and reported on human right violations in Srinagar. I have reported on Baloch militias going to fight in Iraq under the instruction of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard which was a very challenging investigation due to military control and zero access for reporters in Baluchistan and Tehran.
Covered the Iranian Regime extensively from politics to security, corruption notably regime change through the airwaves to petrol smuggling. To highlight my expertise in data analysis and data-driven journalism I launched a #loomingwatercrisis project in Pakistan in association with Lahore University of Management Sciences presented the crisis via digitally mapping and a Hackathon.
