Jackson, MS, USA
I started my career in New York City at The Associated Press, after an internship at Rolling Stone Magazine and another internship with acclaimed photographer Mary Ellen Mark over twenty years ago . In addition I have photographed the Mississippi Delta for over 15 years including the rich cultural heritage, the civil rights history, the deep religious roots and the music and the musicians it has produced.
My camera has been my ticket to explore the world. Photography allows me to focus on making the world a better place by using my camera as a tool to illustrate the issues I am passionate about. I have a special gift that allows me to connect with my subjects quickly and make them feel comfortable in any situation. I also blend well in public or in a board room or a movie set and this allows me to make candid, natural photos without disrupting the event.
I am a member of women photograph WomenPhotograph.com and the National Press Photographers Association.
I am now based Mississippi, I live near an international airport and can be anywhere in a few hours. https://www.suzialtman.com/index
