Photography and film give me an opportunity to fulfill my curiosity for the mysteries of everyday encounters. I am always interested in people’s vitality and fate, how we shape the world around us, and vice versa. This open humanist focus is the common strand between my personal projects and my commissioned work. Whether I am photographing and filming on assignment or for personal work, my drive is to tell stories that touch and inspire people.
Tara Fallaux studied film and photography at art schools in Amsterdam and Pittsburgh (U.S.A). After her studies at Carnegie Mellon University she moved to New York where she started her career as a photographer. Since 1999 Tara works as a freelance photographer combining art photography and film projects with commissioned work. With both her photography and her films she won national and international recognition and awards. She currently develops new personal photography projects as well as documentaries for Public Television. New work in those fields stimulate a fresh creative approach of her commissioned projects.
