I am a Brazilian journalist with over 15 years of experience in the Middle East and North Africa based in Beirut as a correspondent, senior TV producer, radio and online reporter covering international news and current affairs. My current work is TV3 Catalonia (Spain) and, previously, with BBC World Service. I am also a contributor to Radio France International.
My past works include TIME magazine, leading broadcaster Rede Globo, TV Record, Folha de S.Paulo, Terra Networks, Radio CBN, Veja Online, Die Zeit and Zero Hora. I served as deputy editor in chief for Transterra Media agency.
Since 2013, I am involved in training other journalists in basic Hostile Environment and First Aid (HEFAT) courses in Brazil and the Middle East.
Since 2006, I have covered many major events in the region as the Syrian Civil War, Pope Francis visit to Iraq (2021), the popular anti government protests in Baghdad (2020), the Beirut Port explosion (2020), Lebanon anti-government uprising (2019), Turkey Elections (2019 and 2018), Turkey Constitutional Referendum (2017), war against ISIS in Mosul (2017) and Raqaa (2017), the Independence Referendum in Iraq Kurdistan (2017), the 2011 Egyptian Revolution, the Libyan Civil War, the 2011 Syrian uprising and the plight of the Syrian refugees in Turkey, the Gaza War (2008–09), the 2009 Iranian presidential election, and the many political and refugee crises in Lebanon.
