Johanna de Tessieres is a photojournalist based in Bruxelles. She regularly photographs for La Libre Belgique and for international medias. She also collaborates with NGO such as Handicap International, Amnesty International and SOLSOC.
She photographs features focused on humanitarian and human right issues across the world. Her work about sexual abuses against Congolese women in North Kivu has been exposed in Bruxelles and Kinshasa.
In 2015 She documented Yazidis women who escaped from Daesh in northen Iraq.
IN 2016 She received a grant from the Belgian Journalism foundation to document the LGBT community in Senegal.
She is part of the exhibition EXILT with the artist Thomas Israël at galerie Charlot. Paris.
Her work about diggers in Katanga's mines is currently exhibited in Bruxelles.
She is also keen on highlighting the artisans work , and savoir-faire. She published a book about artisans and paruriers who try to preserve the fashion houses of Haute Couture.
