Théo De Gueltzl
Paris, France
It might be remarkable how soon Théo knew his passion was within the creative world. At 14 he did an internship with photographer Jean Beaptiste Mondino. After a month on his side he got proposed to stay and worked as his third assistant. Over an intense period of three years he acquired not only technical skills but also creative approach to photography. During his high school years, Théo spent two of them at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts de Paris before joining the Central Saint Martins School in London. While studying Fine Arts for three years, working in the 3D department has strongly influenced his perception and vision of space as a malleable material. During the years in London he continued assisting various photographers as Thomas Lohr, Stephen Zernitch etc. In 2012 Théo worked for the French Magazine Voyage de Luxe, which took him to places as Cambodia and India. On those trips Théo continued to chronicle his own experience and encounters, which evoked a true passion for documentary photography. After finishing his studies in London he came back to Paris to work as a set designer assistant and set builder for Streeters Agency. Jean Michel Bertin, Andrew Tomlison, Emma Roach, David White were among the artists he worked with, for clients like Givenchy, Hermes, Chanel, etc. In April 2015, Théo started traveling through the Americas, to work on more vivid reportages. Currently in Mexico, he will be heading by car to Argentina, always with an eye and lens on current events and personal stories.
