Tiago Maya

Tiago Maia Figueiredo, was born in 1980, Lisbon. Studied Photography at ETIC (1998/2002) where he specialized in Documentary and Photojournalism. His training also included graphic design at RESTART (2004).
In 2003 he was accepted for an internship at Diário de Notícias, one of the oldest, biggest, and most prestigious newspaper references of Portuguese journalism. Soon after he started work as a freelancer; Both photography and graphic design, sometimes the combination of both, are his focus.
In 2010 he made real a long time dream of working in bigger and more established international structure. In New York City he secured an internship with VII photo, where he ended up working both as Junior Editor and Curator.
Professionally he has made his vision relevant in some circles of fashion and advertising within the Portuguese market and overseas, such as Vogue, Maxima, Maxim, Avalanxe, Around the Tree, Masterfoot, Hera, Sitel, Dessange (Paris), Portugal Telecom, Decorpisus, Group Sana Hotels, Ege (Denmark),VeryImportantPortuguese (Paris) and many others are on his list of previous and present clients.
Currently, back to Lisbon and a father of two, he is available to share both his experience and expertise anywhere in this, ever moving, globalized world.
Photography is his passion, and to communicate, to the best of his ability, the person, the object, or the circumstance in front of his lens his mission.
