Timour Chafik is a journalist, photographer and broadcaster who started his journalistic career in 1996 at the WDR bureau in Aachen, Germany. He then switched to online, spending three years as a writer and content editor at Springer Science and Business Media in Munich before working as editor in charge for „VerkehrsRundschau“ from 2004 to 2008. In 2008 he joined the founding team of Medienfabrik, one of Germanys leading Agencies in Corporate Publishing. Responsible for the complete range of publishing activities – from developing the publication’s concept, writing articles and conducting probing, in-depth interviews to creating the publication’s design, completing the production work and distributing the final product – Chafik worked with clients like e.g. TÜV SÜD, Mercedes Benz or SOS Children’s Villages International.
As a freelance journalist he covers topics like New Entrepreneurship in the Middle East, Urban Planning in Cairo, Augmented Reality in the City or Neuromarketing in Web Design (see portfolio at www.studiomonaco.de) and more. In 2011, he founded his own agency „studiomonaco – creative content“. Driven by the idea that advertising-as-interruption is more or less over, studiomonaco connects brands to customers by telling engaging and entertaining stories that audiences actually want to hear. „The only way to get positive attention in this environment is by creating great media — desired content that is relevant, informing, entertaining, and on-brand“, he says.
