Tim is a passionate award-winning photojournalist at The Day in New London, CT. Throughout his tenure at The Day he has immersed himself in projects providing viewers with a rare insider's view of sensitive situations in a compassionate, ethical and story-telling manner. His easy going style and demeanor seem to make subjects feel at ease, often forgetting they are in front of a lens.
Recently, Tim documented the dramatic New London police shooting of a suspect in an overturned stolen ice truck. He arrived as police began to approach the smoking vehicle with their guns drawn and continually photographed the chaotic ordeal throughout the gunfire capturing shell casings in mid air as police shot a man four times. He also captured the devastating effects of the massive 2010 earthquake in Haiti, under extremely difficult conditions including no running water or electricity. He produced an award-winning audio slideshow capturing the agonizing human experience. Other projects include following a homeless man living under the Goldstar Bridge in a tent around for almost a year, Hurricane Katrina, gang inmates in Connecticut prisons, and a woman's journey as she discovers within days that she is pregnant and has breast cancer, which was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Recently Tim followed a female boxer through her first professional fight, capturing the sights and sounds of her victory.
