Tinne Van Loon
Photographer, Videographer
The Everyday Projects
Cairo, Cairo Governorate, Egypt
Tinne Van Loon is a Belgian/American documentary photographer focused on issues concerning Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) communities. Her work provides a greater context to the headlines, finding the everyday impact of political and societal conflicts.
Representing others, she is very conscious of the issue of authenticity, therefore the use of a collaborative process is often of high importance in her work.
Tinne's work has been published and exhibited in the United States, Egypt, Brazil, Turkey, the Netherlands, France, and Belgium.
Tinne is the founder of Everyday Egypt, a collective of over a dozen photographers (Egyptian and foreign) posting images of daily life in the country, often opposing the news headlines. She is also the co-director of The People's Girls, a half hour documentary about sexual harassment in Egypt, releasing in January 2015.
She is currently based in Cairo, Egypt and available for assignment.
