Bucharest Protests 2017
Tudor Vintiloiu
People take part in a massive protest in front of the Goverment headquarters against a controversial executive order that decriminalizes official misconduct and other corruption related offenses in February 2017. Hundreds of thousand of people in all major cities in Romania have been protesting all week after the Government passed a bill that is a huge step backwards in the long battle against corruption in this EU country.
Although the Government has since withdrawn the executive order that ignited the protests, the people in the street will not back down, demanding the immediate resignation of the whole cabinet.
