Tshepo Moloi

Tshepo Moloi was born in (Johannesburg 1992) but, grew up in the rural place of Mpumalanga
(Daggakraal). In 2004, He moved back to Johannesburg, to pursue and finish his high school career. In
2015, He became interested in photography and film-making, He then started photographing and
experimenting around his community. In 2016, he was part of a group show (‘Fluxus Now’ by Space
Space Gallery, Johannesburg). In 2017, He joined Market Photo Workshop (Johannesburg), where he
completed a photography foundation course and his work was showcased for a group show (Photo
Workshop 17) by Market Photo Workshop Gallery. In 2018, showcased with (‘Howdy’ by Space Space
Gallery, Switzerland). In 2019, He showcased at (‘Spring Exhibition’, Julie Miller Art, Johannesburg),
(‘awayfromthekeyboard.gif’, A4 Arts Foundation, Cape Town), BUZZART19, (KZNSA Gallery, Durban). In
2020, He participated in the following group exhibitions, (The Portrait Show by Through The Lens
Collective, Johannesburg), ‘The Precarity of Spectacle’ by (Michaelis School of Fine Art, Cape Town).
‘Beauty/?’ by (K.L.8, Belgium), ‘Art Influx’ by (E-exhibition, Pakistan), Nostalgia by (Dark side Collective,
US), 6 Feet by (Timespecific, New York) and had a portfolio review by Ian Parry Scholarship. His work
was published on Africanah.org (Amsterdam), The Kiosk of Democracy, Germany), Mail & Guardian
(Johannesburg) and had a photographic talk (‘Pretoria Street Photography, 2019). Tshepo Moloi, is a
Johannesburg based documentary and street photographer who focuses on topics such as migration,
belonging, consumerism, community and its subthemes.
