Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Valda Nogueira is an independent photographer and visual artist based in Brazil with a background in humanistic documentary photography. Communities, territories and culture are the central themes of her experimental and documentary projects. She is visual arts student and member of Farpa multimedia collective, Women Photograph, Diversify.Photo and MFON Women.
Due to her humanistic background, Nogueira could understand the role of photography in fighting against the invisibility suffered by ethnic groups, as well as the importance of the imagery in the construction of new types of narratives about these groups, largely reported under unfavorable stereotypes. Through photography, she searchs to highlight the meaning of what is being human, in a respectful way, in a process where photography and coexistence are closely connected.
Nogueira works as a free-lance photographer shooting corporate and social events for several companies and organizations. She also works as a photographer assistant in studio and outdoor locations.
She is available to travel for assignments.
