Vera Markus is a freelance documentary photographer based in Zürich. She works mainly for organisations in the social field, NGOs as well as magazines on reportage and portrait assignments.
Her motor is her affection for people and interest in their stories.

She was raised in Australia and Switzerland, studied in New York and Berlin.
She spent three years working in Israel where she photographed for the Adam Institute, for democracy and peace, the music academy in Tel Aviv, the Theater School Nissan Nativ and did reportages for german speaking newspapers such as Tages Anzeiger, Weltwoche, NZZ, TAZ.
She does multimedia projects, which she edits herself.
She is fluent in German, English, Italien, Hebrew and can communicate in French.
