Vinciane Jacquet

Vinciane Jacquet is a freelance news and documentary photographer based in Cairo, Egypt.
Graduated from a master in public international law, she worked briefly in the legal and communication areas in France and Canada. In 2014, she decided to go back to 2 of her passions, photography and the Arab world and moved to Egypt, where she starts a career of photojournalist. After a few months only, she was a finalist of the Freedom House contest “Images of repression and freedom”, and her first stories were published by Al Jazeera English.
Vinciane has worked with several national and international media - such as Associated Press, Der Spiegel, Deutsche Welle, La Croix, Le Figaro, Le Soir, Libération, L’Express, L’Obs, Newsweek, The Africa Report, Internazionale and various NGOs - in Egypt and Iraq, Israel, Palestine and Lebanon.
She likes to focus on political, social and humanitarian crisis, conflicts, old age and environment.
She has been a member of Hans Lucas collective since July 2016.

Nice: the death and the beach
Vinciane Jacquet
Nice, France. On July 14th, 2016, 84 people are killed in a terrorist attack while they were celebrating Bastille day (French national day) by the beach. On assignment for French media Les Jours, I worked on showing the face of the touristic city2 days after the tragedy.
