Wetterbericht – Weatherforecast
Karsten Klama
Biermann vom Deutschen Wetterdienst.
Everybody talks about the weather, but hardly anyone knows it - except for Kai
Biermann from the German Weather Service . On the flatboat Verandering
he shows boaters how high and deep are chasing each other .
Die Festmacher / Mooring-Service
Karsten Klama
"Mooring-Teams" are tighten boats with up to arm-thick hawsers at the pier. The dockers are working all around the clock. Day and night, in any weather. Under the supervision of the pilot tankers or container ships are approaching the Ports of Bremen. Mooring-Teams are the Welcome command in port. No container ship or cargo ship is able to lay alongside on its own. At the pier it needs strong hands to catch the throw lines and the lines to wrap around the bollard.
