New Orleans, LA, USA
William Widmer is a narrative photographer based in New Orleans - land of muffalettas, oil spills, jazz funerals, hurricanes, drive-thru daiquiris, and eroding coastal wetlands.
He's a regular contributor to The New York Times and covers news and feature stories throughout the American South. For the past decade, he has rooted his work in themes of human ecology, environmental justice, culture, race, poverty, and criminal justice.
Mr. Widmer is represented by Redux Pictures and available for commercial and editorial commissions. He’s an FAA licensed (and insured) drone pilot, holds two degrees of higher learning, and is also a lovely singer.
