Kyoko Yamamoto
Tokyo, Japan
I was born and grew up in the middle of nowhere and now live in Tokyo, Japan.
I majored in Japanese painting at university.
The subject of my photography is the people which I take great interest in. I continue to take photographs from the dual aspect of what is present in human consciousness and what exists in society.

Kyoko Yamamoto
People are sometimes under the illusion
That things which actually have no meaning do have meaning
Numbers are a typical case
They are not treated purely and simply as numbers
Some are liked because they are considered lucky
Others are shunned because they are considered unlucky
Everything in this photo contains the number "6"
This is from my birthday
To my mind, it is the very symbol
Of the illusion that numbers have meaning
