Yannis Kolesidis

Yannis Kolesidis was born in Athens in 1973. He graduated from the School of Study and Practice of Photography (EMEF) in Athens. He has been working as a photojournalist since 1994.
From 2004 till 2013 he worked for REUTERS. He covered the Athens Olympics and Paralympic Games.
From 2014 works for the European Press Agency (EPA) and has cooperation with VICE.
His photographs have been published in international newspapers and magazines such us New York Times, International Herald Tribune, Guardian, Time magazine, Stern, Paris Match etc.
In 2008 he travelled for Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) in Niger, Zambia and India and in 2009 his photographs were presented in a big exhibition in Athens.
He has won several awards including: 2nd prize single “People in the News” in the World Press Photo 2009, 1st place “General News” in the Pictures of the Year International (POYi) 2011, 3rd place "Natural Disaster" in the Picture of the Year International (POYi) 2013, Award of Excellence “Portrait” in the Pictures of the Year International (POYi) 2003, 2nd prize "General News" in the Prix de la Photografie Paris PX3 2012, 1st prize "Feature Story" in the Prix de la Photografie Paris PX3 2015, 2nd prize "Feature Story" in the Prix de la Photografie Paris PX3 2015, and the 1st National prize “Feature” category in the FUJI Film Euro Press Photo Awards 1999 competition.
