Zachary Mortensen // Sometime in the 90′s Zach fell off a turnip truck, fresh from Colorado, and landed in the East Village, NYC. He has lived there ever since. Zach has produced short films, feature films, music videos, commercials and a lot of fun dinner parties. At night, when he isn’t working on developing sci-fi story worlds, he dreams of building a better solution for personal and family media archives. Zach is the founder of Ghost Robot, a New York City based creative production company. He has produced features such as Benjamin Dickinson’s critically acclaimed, First Winter, Peter Callahan’s Against The Current staring Joseph Fiennes, Michelle Trachtenberg and Mary Tyler Moore, the Gotham Award winning feature film Choking Man by director Steve Barron, and the critically acclaimed documentaries Cropsey by Joshua Zeman and Barbara Brancaccio, George Ratliff’s Hell House, and Sara Lamm’s Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soapbox and Birth Story: Ina May Gaskin & The Farm Midwives.
Mortensen has developed and produced groundbreaking short form work, including the first narrative shot with 360° immersive video, The New Arrival, by writer/director Amy Talkington and Encyclopedia Pictura’s multi-award winning collaboration with Bjork, Wanderlust in 3D.
With Ghost Robot, Mortensen is constantly in production on multiple commercial, music video and branded content projects. Recent clients include: Ford, Toyota Prius, Conoco, Southwest Airlines, Verizon, United Airlines, Google, Toshiba, History, A&E, Incase, Steven Alan and many more.
