Hamzeh Zahran (b. 1989) is a visual artist based in San Francisco, exploring themes of identity, memory, and belonging. His images move between observation and intention, informed by an interest in how photography can hold emotion and translate lived experience into visual language. This experience shapes his ongoing interest in change, disconnection, and the feeling of being in between places.

Remains (2025) - From ancient statues at the Amman Citadel to the spray-paint tags on the walls of the city, I confront the feeling of being an outsider in my own homeland. Having left Jordan at nineteen and returned with the eyes of someone who has lived in the diaspora, I find myself navigating a space that no longer feels like mine. Each image is a piece of that disjointed relationship between past and present, family and self, home and the feeling of never fully being at home.
