Zara Katz

Zara Katz is a photo editor and video producer. She is the director of photography at the digital publication Narrative.ly and multimedia editor and manager at Economic Hardship Reporting Project. She co-founded and produces @EverydayIncarceration, a collaborative Instagram feed looking at 40 years of mass incarceration in the United States.
She has worked at The New York Times Lens blog, Time magazine and Newsweek. Additionally, she produces documentary and branded videos for editorial, nonprofit and corporate clients.
She has worked as adjunct faculty and special photojournalism projects manager at CUNY Graduate School of Journalism where she received her Master’s degree. She brings experience working with print and digital images and videos in editorial publications, social media, and academic platforms, as well as museum and galleries where she began her career in photography.
