Welcome To the Exit by Alexey Yurenev captures the Ukraine’s Odessa in a turbulent moment: between revolutions, martial law, and as a comedian president is elected and caught in the Trump impeachment vortex. Housed in a velour family album reminiscent of the time long gone, the book uses archival imagery and photographs of people from all walks of life to juxtapose the surreal theater of Odessa today with the utopian ideals of its Soviet past, revealing a current reality that is truly stranger than fiction.
